Advent Calendar: Day 6

We should really oil that wheel it's squeaking Oh Hello my little jellybeans...how long have you been standing there?

It's day 6, and we still have one or two easy tasks for you. We are still trying to get that child-like wonder after all.

So hopefully all the image above is alright. That's right it's a word search~

So incase you had a childhood where word searches were not a thing, lets go over the how these work.  Words can be found in a straight line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. They may be read either forward or backwards.  The list of words you need to find are on the right side of the image.

Now how does this work as a code you might be asking. Well if you take all the left over letters, they can reveal a holiday sentiment.

  • Your code is hidden inside that sentiment. Here is the instructions.
  • The first letter of every word comes first.
  • The last letter of every word, is the second half, but start at the end of the sentence working to the front.
  • Any word that would be touched twice, (because they are a single letter) is a number corresponding with their position in the alphabet, and used only once.
  • Nouns start with capitals.
  • The starting of sentences start with capitals.
  • Sentences end with periods, and for the sake of this puzzle, they count as part of the last word, this might not always be the case, so I am specifying.

Good luck every one.

Take all the leftover letters and put them together.

Now I did state there was to be a correction. with that ERCHGOC line and it was suppose to be ERCHGOS thus that changes our letters to

THEBESTYULETIDEDECORATIONISTOBEWREATHEDINASMILE

we need to break them into words that form a holiday sentiment.

THE//BEST//YULETIDE//DECORATION//IS//TO//BE//WREATHED//IN//A//SMILE

Convert to a sentence

the best yuletide decoration is to be wreathed in a smile

we had to use the a twice, so it's a 1, and since it's only used once, we remove it from our second half.

Nothing in our instructions state a space is to be used to separate the two. Thus the solutions is.
